Jennifer untangled herself from Donavan’s lap, her cheeks flushing. She tried to appear normal. “You know what? I’m going to go up to my room and get ready.” She took a few steps backwards. “It won’t be long before Brooke and my mom get up. We’re all headed into Sarasota for some spa time.”

“Jennifer, wait,” Donavan said, taking a step forward.

She took the box from T-Bone. “I’m running late. I’ll talk to you later.” She flashed a half-smile, making her retreat.

This was the second box, damn it.

At this rate, Donavan would catch on and demand answers.

She had none to give.

Jennifer made it up to her room and closed the door. She clutched the box tightly, breathing a sigh of relief. The last thing she needed was Donavan sniffing out a problem. She knew he’d try to “fix” her world, but she wanted purity with him—not a man on a warpath.

She strode to the bed, setting the box down. She eyed the monster as if it had three horns and a tail. It was like the other box. Addressed to her with no return address or postmark. Someone knew she was here, and they had hand delivered this package.

A cold chill ran down her spine.

She didn’t know what to do.

She glanced at the clock on the nightstand. What she told Donavan was true. She had to get ready. Her morning was filled with all things girly. The wedding was this afternoon, then Brooke and Damon would leave on their honeymoon.

So, she made her decision. She grabbed the box, and then walked over to her closet. Whoever designed this house had a woman in mind. She stuffed the unopened box in the back. She would ignore it, for now. Then she went to take her shower.
